Since establishing its first overseas store in Singapore in January 2021 at Funan Mall, Pop Mart has steadily expanded its presence in the city-state as a cornerstone of its global growth strategy. Singapore served as Pop Mart’s initial foothold in Southeast Asia, and the company has grown to operate around many outlets there within a few years—including a 262-square-metre flagship at ION Orchard opened in August 2024, its largest store in Singapore. The brand also rolled out automated “Robo Shop” vending machines across Singapore and hosted notable events like the first-ever Pop Toy Show outside of China in 2023 at Marina Bay Sands, underscoring the country’s enthusiastic collector community.

Pop Mart’s leadership has repeatedly highlighted Singapore’s strategic importance—not only as its largest market in the region and a launchpad for expansion into neighboring countries, but also as an ideal hub to showcase the brand’s culture on a global stage. “Both countries (Singapore and Malaysia) have a similar social culture and offer a relatively large market of art toy collectors. We can leverage what we have done in Singapore to build things up in Malaysia,” noted Pop Mart global president Justin Moon, emphasizing Singapore’s key role in the company’s Southeast Asia growth.
